"I got the idea for this picture after the events of 9/11/01. It stayed in my head for about a year before I did anything with it. All of the people are a different wood from all over the world. The people are all sizes, shapes, ages and color. I even have a pregnant woman in the group. The woman on the left holding the baby and all the children around her represent maybe our best hope for peace. As a last idea, I curved all for sides and the front of the picture has a curve with the dove in the center of the curve. I didn't put a border or frame around it because I didn't want anything to distract from the picture or the meaning. All you see in the way of a border is the edge of the black dyed veneer I have used on the edges."
