AMI Member Profile

Mike Rerick

I am a software engineer with over twenty years of developing a wide variety of software, including five years with web based applications.

I became interested in marquetry several years ago after seeing a display at the Oregon state fair. I looked at the pictures and talked to one of the members manning the booth, got contact information from him and several months later attended a local chapter meeting. I have been a member ever since.

I have only done one marquetry piece so far, a small rose bud, which one of our local members uses as a training piece in his beginning lesson. However, I enjoyed making the picture and intend to create more in the future.

When the previous webmaster decided to step down, I volunteered to take over his position. Today, Mark Bendickson and I are developing and maintaining the new AMI web site. As time allows, we will continue to add more and more features to it.

Since the AMI web site is for all of our members, I encourage you to send me any comments or suggestions you may have for the web site. You can do this by going to the Contact Us page or clicking on the "webmaster" link at the bottom of any page.
